Breaking: Former NHL Star returns to Professional Hockey in the KHL

Sources alleged today that Ilya Kovalchuk has signed a 1 year KHL deal with the club Spartak Moskva. Kovalchuk was away from the game for two seasons and is making his return at age 40.


Kovalchuk's Storied NHL Career




Last playing for the Avangard Omsk of the KHL in �20/�21, Kovalchuk had a prolific NHL career. Through 926 NHL games he posted 443 goals and 433 assists. Kovalchuk was also the first overall pick in the 2001 NHL Entry draft.

Although he is far removed from his prime, it will be interesting to see how Kovalchuk will produce this season. More details to come.
