The Philadelphia Flyers have made a shocking announcement this afternoon regarding star goaltender Carter Hart.

Hart Steps Away From Philadelphia Flyers After Shocking Decision



The Flyers announced on X today that their star goaltender Carter Hart has decided to step away from the NHL for personal reasons. It sounds as though Hart decided to do this and asked the club for permission to step away.

Per Philadelphia Flyers General Manager, Daniel Briere:


"Carter Hart has requested and been granted an indefinite leave of absence citing personal reasons. The club will have no further comment at this time."


Hart is the latest player to step away this season for personal reasons. Earlier this week Calgary Flames forward Dillon Dube also came to a similar decision. As of now Hart or the Flyers have not announced the specific reasons that Hart is stepping away.

With Hart out the Flyers will have to lean on young goaltender Samuel Ersson to carry the load. The Flyers will look to remain in the playoff race despite this massive loss.
