John Tortorella Gives His Reasoning For Benching One Of His Stars
John Tortorella made a puzzling decision yesterday to bench one of his top stars. In true Torts fashion, he responded with a reason as to why the player was benched.
Flyers Bench Star Forward Just Seconds Into The Game
Last night Flyers forward Joel Farabee found himself watching the team's game far more than playing it. This is because he was benched just 56 seconds into the game.

He played just a total of 56 seconds in the Flyers' OT loss.

Despite not playing Farabee remained on the bench and worked the forward door for his teammates throughout the entire game and overtime. After the game, the media made sure to ask Tortorella why we did not see more of Farabee.
Tortorella Responds To Benching Star Player
In his post-game press conference, Tortorella was asked about benching Farabee. He begrudgingly answered in the type of way Tortorella has been known for over the years.
I'm missing your question. Are you asking me why I sat Joel? Because he didn't listen. I'll answer your question that way.
The media asked for further clarification on what exactly Farabee failed to listen to. Unfortunately, Tortorella was unwilling to provide more information.
"None of your business. Come on, guys, you know I'm no going to go there. If you want me to keep answering questions here, don't bring me into that spot."
While we don't know what Farabee did exactly to be benched he is expected to be in the lineup next game. The team's next game is the first opportunity we will get to see if Farabee learned his lesson.
