Jesse Puljujarvi signed a AHL professional tryout contract with the WBS, the Penguins farm team earlier last week. The former 4th overall draft pick has played his in five games so far throughout his tryout, and in his 5th game he finally scores his first pro goal in over a year vs Springfield.

Puljujarvi's first AHL goal

The Finnish forward scored his first goal to tie the game 2-2 in a crucial game vs St. Louis' farm team, the Springfield Thunderbirds. The former 4th overall pick is looking to find his game and return to the NHL and potentially the Penguins.

Call-up to the Penguins possible?

It's very possible that if Jesse can keep up his play and begin scoring at a decent pace that he finds himself scoring out of a tryout and getting a two way contract in the NHL with the Penguins. If injuries keep piling up on the forwards, GM Kyle Dubas will keep all his options open, including adding the Finnish forward as some depth as the Pens go through the final stretch of the season.

Its very nice to see the young forward finally score and hopefully some confidence sprays upon the young man and we see him back on NHL ice!
