Kyle Dubas And The Penguins On The Verge Of Signing Former Top-5 Pick

The Pittsburgh Penguins could bring up a familiar face after a successful stint in the AHL.

Dubas Could Be Signing Puljujarvi Soon

This year has been a struggle for 2016 4th overall pick Jesse Puljujarvi. The forward underwent double hip surgery which had a lengthy recovery process. Since then, he had a PTO with the Pittsburgh Penguins and then eventually signed a deal with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.

However, it appears he could be making his NHL return sooner rather than later.

No Jesse Puljujarvi for WBS tonight. Wouldn't be surprised if Dubas has the NHL contract ready for him sometime in the next 48 hours.

The Penguins have had a rotating cast of players in the bottom six this season and it appears that Puljujarvi will now be getting his chance to make an impression.

Puljujarvi's Successful AHL Campaign

So far Puljujarvi has played in 13 games for the AHL's Penguins and has been productive scoring 9 points and being a net positive whenever he is on the ice.

Hopefully Puljujarvi is able to impress at the NHL level and finally fill out to his true potential.
