Kyle Dubas Makes a Major Statement on a Potential Jake Guentzel Trade
Pittsburgh Penguins GM Addresses All the Chatter Around Winger Jake Guentzel
Jake Guentzel has been the talk of the NHL as of late, especially amongst Canadian media, and specifically in Vancouver. Everyone wants to know what the Penguins will do with their star winger. On his weekly radio show with Penguins play by play announcer Josh Getzoff, Dubas broke some new of his own.«We haven't had any conversations with any other teams about Jake,» said Dubas. «So, anything that is out there is pure speculation. That's really as simple as that.»

Both Guentzel and Crosby have been carrying the Penguins on their backs this season. Crosby is a topic of conversation for the Hart trophy and Guentzel is right with him, both with 46 points.
«We'll continue to go through the season here. I'll continue to evaluate where we're at,» Dubas said on the show. «Either after the All-Star break or after the season, we'll do what's best for everybody, best for the Penguins, best for Jake, and we'll determine that together. That's really it.»
Guentzel has not commented on any trades or contract talks, simply focusing on playing. But his agent Ben Hankinson admitted on the NHL's Sirus XM radio channel it could 'get ugly'.
Dubas addressed this comment, staying:
«People thought when he said it could get ugly, that was about the contract,» said Dubas. «I don't think so. In reading it, I think he was � in reading it � more so talking about the team and where it's going to go in the next several seasons."
Dubas further said that he
"Didn't take offense to it"
