Following its acquisition by new owners, X has seen significant changes, especially in its content and advertising policies. A noticeable shift is evident in the type of advertisements being promoted.


A common tactic involves using the image of a well-known personality paired with a sensational and misleading headline to redirect users to fraudulent schemes.

In a recent instance, Sidney Crosby has been dragged into this deceptive practice. An advertisement featuring him carries a misleading headline about his finances.

This advertising strategy is not only peculiar but also potentially illegal, given that it utilizes Crosby's image and likeness for promotion without his consent, especially in the context of a cryptocurrency scam.


We wanted to spread the awareness, hoping the scammers wouldn't get anybody else.
