Penguins Forward Officially Returns to the Team After Injury

Pittsburgh Penguins must have caught an injury bug in the New Year with guys like Reilly Smith, Noel Acciari and John Ludvig all getting injuries, but one of them might be back sooner then expected.

Noel Acciari was a last minute scratch in the Penguins game vs Carolina as he was out with an upper-body injury keeping him to day to day status. The Penguins held a brief morning skate today, and we saw #55 back in practice as a full participant. His injury wasn't as bad as it seems yet it is unclear if Noel Acciari will play in tomorrow's early game vs the Seattle Kraken.

Acciari placed on Pens fourth line

During practice today, Acciari was on a line with veteran forward Jeff Carter and Janson Harkins. The 32 year old has had slow offensive production this year with 4 points in 33 games, not good enough as a bottom 6 forward. The Penguins will need their bottom 6 to step up on the table and help win in those gritty games where the top guns are left blank on the scoresheet. Hopefully Acciari finds his offensive game playing with Carter and Harkins.
