The Pittsburgh Penguins have struggled in special teams this season. Whether it's powerplay or penalty kill and even overtime 3v3, things haven't been working out, and it's quite evident that they haven't been practicing 3v3. They are 1-5 in overtime this season despite all their offensive star power. This has caused Penguins Media to explode.

Pens Media Calls Out Penguins 3 on 3 play

Mark Madden, a member of the Pittsburgh Media, made an article criticizing the Penguins play in overtime. In quote of the article, Mark mentions two Penguins Defenseman.

That's dangerous ground when you're on the fringe of the playoff race. It's also unacceptable for a team that has Karlsson and Kris Letang, two mobile and skilled defensemen who should give the Penguins a big edge three-on-three.

Where is the star power in OT?

Usually in overtime, we see star players shine as there is much more open space. Well that hasn't been the case this season for any of the core in Pittsburgh. Whether it's Guentzel, Crosby, Malkin or Letang, these boys have not been good in overtime action, picking up 1 win in 6 overtime appearances. Something's got to change in the Steel City.

More details to come.
