Potential Trade Partner Likely out on Guentzel
With the blockbuster trade going on this Wednesday evening, involving the Canucks and the Flames, it appears the Canucks got their star player, and it isn't Jake Guentzel. The trade involved Elias Lindholm, and the Canucks gave up a first round pick, prospect Hunter Bruschewicz, Tomas Jurmo and Andrei Kuzmenko who will all be heading to the Flames.
Penguins will likely walk away
With the Canucks being a leading candidate to land the star forward on the Penguins, it seems highly unlikely now as Kuzmenko would've been a piece the Penguins would look for in any possible deal involving Canucks and Guentzel. Without a first round pick in this years draft makes a trade between the two sides very unlikely from now until the deadline.
Kyle Dubas is not worried as there are many other potential suitors if Guentzel shall be available. Those teams include the Oilers, Leafs, Stars, Avs, etc.
Penguins organization on their feet
With the flames receiving a haul for Lindholm, We think Dubas will be asking questions on the value for Guentzel. The Flames managed to grab a top 6 forward, B prospect and first round pick for a 60 point centreman. Exciting times ahead in Pittsburgh.
