The Pittsburgh Penguins have been the main chatter over the course of this week. Whether it's injuries such as Reilly Smith and John Ludvig, or the ongoing Jake Guentzel rumours, or Sidney Crosby's dominance with 26 goals, for the good or the bad the Pens have been in the news.

Friedman thinks the Penguins won't buy at the deadline

The Pens keep climbing up the playoff race but insider Elliotte Friedman believes that the Penguins will be quiet when thinking about adding to the squad.

«They've put themselves back in a playoff run this year, they deserve a lot of credit for it,» Friedman said. «But I don't think they're necessarily going to be huge players for adding.»

The priority is Guentzel

The main focus from now until the trade deadline is figuring out Jake Guentzel's future with the Penguins. Many believe that he will be dealt in a hockey trade' allowing the Pens to get assets needed to continue their playoff pursuit. Others think that he will resign and be on Sidney Crosby's line until the end of Sid's career. Many questions so far with no answers, we've got ourselves a fun month and a half ahead.

More details to come.
