The Ideal Penguins Trade Partners Revealed

Pittsburgh and Vancouver aren't strangers when it comes to working the phones. Sam Lafferty, Ian Cole, Teddy Blueger, and Mark Friedman were all products of their communication amongst eachother. It is very possible we can see another trade between the two teams from now until the trade deadline.

Kuzmenko/Guentzel swap in the works?

Andrei Kuzmenko has been shopped around by the Vancouver Canucks in the recent weeks, and has been scratched 5 times this season, most recently vs the St. Louis Blues. Andrei, has had a rough sophomore season after absolutely crushing it in his rookie year putting up 70 points!
Jake Guentzel on the other hand, pending UFA, has yet to agree on a contract with the Penguins. If no deal is in place, we doubt Kyle Dubas will let Guentzel walk for free. Ideally if Jake Guentzel is being dealt, it would be to a Western Conference team.

Trade Proposal between the Penguins and the Canucks

In this deal, the Penguins remain competitive in their hopes of making the playoffs by adding Kuzmenko to replace Jake Guentzel, and the Canucks get a prominent goalscorer in Jake Guentzel who would flourish with JT Miller and Nils Hoglander.
