Pittsburgh Penguins Maintain Winning Streak as the Edmonton Oilers Go Down in Defeat
The Pittsburgh Penguins 1992-93 team remains the team with the longest winning streak in the NHL. Monday night the Oilers fell to the Golden Knights 3-1 in Vegas.
Chandler Stephenson's third-period goal proved to be the winner as the Golden Knights put an end to the Oilers' 16-game winning streak.

The 1992-93 Penguins were not immortal. We all thought they were. But their 17-game winning streak remains untouched. Down go the Oilers. Josh Yohe (@JoshYohe_PGH) February 7, 2024
The 1992-93 team consisted of some of the greatest all time Penguins lead by Mario Lemieux. Who, as Josh Yohe reminded everyone, killed it only after two months of cancer radiation treatments.
Since the Penguins' 17-game winning streak in the 92-93 season is receiving much attention at the moment, a reminder: Mario Lemieux, in those 17 games, put up 27 goals, 24 assists and 51 points. And he did it only weeks after undergoing two months of cancer radiation treatments. Josh Yohe (@JoshYohe_PGH) February 7, 2024
