BREAKING: NHL Captain Out for Remainder of Season

Minnesota Wild Captain Jared Spurgeon has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a hip injury that will require surgery.

Huge Blow for the Wild

The Minnesota Wild defenseman missed 27 out of 42 games so far this season with 5 points in 16 games. It's clear that Spurgeon was playing injured. The Wild sit 7th in the central division and are 27th in the NHL overall standings. Losing Jared Spurgeon will only make things worse, after a already hard start for Minnesota.

Faber's music is calling

The Minnesota Wild rookie defenseman Brock Faber has 18 points so far this season logging at least 27 minutes per game. Expect those numbers to stay the same with Spurgeon out, the Wild are viewing him as a number 1 defenseman.

More details to come.
