Penguins Forward Leaves Game After Brutal Hit
The Pittsburgh Penguins returned to action tonight against the Winnipeg Jets. The return to action was meant to be an exciting time for the Penguins to renew their playoff hopes. Unfortunately, an injury has derailed some of that excitement.
As he was carrying a puck up ice forward Noel Acciari ran into Winnipeg Jets defenseman Brenden Dillon. Dillon when he went to hit Acciari delivered a brutal hit leading with his elbow into Acciari's head.
what an absolute gutless hit by Dillion on Acciari.
exactly the type of thing the league is trying to get rid of. 5 minute major was 100% the right call & it should lead to a call from DoPs

Acciari needed help from teammates to make his way to the locker room and has not returned to this point. On a more positive note, the Penguins find themselves up 2-0 in the game at the moment.
As more updates are available regarding Noel Acciari and his health we will pass them along to you.
