Game preview for tonight's encounter against Detroit: things could go sideways
Tuesday night's game was a catastrophy. The defense was awful and the offense was even worse. This chart shows us that almost the whole team was lost last night:
Since they're playing back-to-back games, Casey DeSmith is going to start tonight. DeSmith is having a tough season, as he currently have a record of four wins and 7 losses, including one in overtime.
Detroit was planned to be the underdog, but last night's game made things very uncertain, the Pens will have to simply be overall better: offensively, defensively and we need a solid performance from DeSmith, as the Pens are on the edge of getting behind in the Metropolitan division. It is going to be a very interesting game since Detroit has been having some difficulty lately, recording 3 wins versus 7 losses in December. The Red Wings are not the most solid team, so it's a great opportunity to get some momentum back and grab some points for the Penguins.
