The Pittsburgh Penguins have made a coaching shake-up, parting ways with Associate Coach Todd Reirden. It's a stunning move that's making waves in the hockey verse.
According to President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kyle Dubas, they've been doing some serious soul-searching over the past couple of weeks. And while saying goodbye to Reirden wasn't an easy decision, they believe it's what's best for the team's future.
Dubas had this to say about the move:
We are grateful to Todd for his dedication and commitment to the Penguins over two separate stints with the organization. Mike Sullivan and I have spent time over the past two weeks evaluating the coaching staff, and although these decisions are never easy, we agree that this change was in the best interest of the team moving forward.
It's a tough call to make, but sometimes change is necessary to keep moving forward. It has pleased those in the Burgh who couldn't be more happier to see this happen.
Let's see how this impacts the Penguins as they gear up for the next chapter of their season.
