Time for a Rebuild for the Penguins?
Due to the Penguins recent performance, many fans and media members have suggested that it could be time for the Penguins to rebuild, and essentially give up the dream of another cup parade in Pittsburgh. However, it isn't that easy to just hit the reset button. Kyle Dubas made many acquisitions to support the team making a run and it simply hasn't gone according to plan.TSN Analyst Frank Corrado Gives His Take
«I just don't know how you can go from six months ago to making a massive blockbuster trade getting one of the biggest names available,» «To six months later saying �we're actually going to move on from some of these players.'»
Aside from the 11 million dollar elephant in the room, the Penguins don't have a lot of players that could net draft picks and high level prospects. Trading Jake Guentzel would be their best bet, but his recent injury has thrown a wrench in that plan for the time being.
Tough days ahead for the Penguins.

It appears that the Penguins best option right now is to get through the season and try to retool again in the offseason. The Penguins are currently 7 points out of a playoff spot and don't seem to be trending in a positive direction.
