After missing the playoffs for two years and Kyle Dubas vowing to get younger, the Penguins have players that they can deal to garner a huge move for Mitch Marner.
Dubas can look to his former team, who is also looking to rebuild after getting ousted from the playoffs yet again. One option that the Penguins can get on board with is a deal to bring Mitch Marner to the Penguins. If Marner is going to waive his no-trade clause in the last year of his contract, then the Penguins should get themselves involved in a deal to take advantage of the Maple Leafs who might be looking to move him and get less in return.

According to Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcast, the Maple Leafs are looking to aquire a defenseman, and the Penguins have one that they would be more then willing to part with.
«If they do make a Marner trade maybe they don't win the trade' and get a stud defenseman,» Friedman said. «But I would think a defenseman would be part of that package.»
So if the Penguins were really looking to get rid of some dead weight on the blueline, look no further than Ryan Graves. This would fit the idea of the Leafs willingness to "lose the trade". And this would free up some money on the Penguins.
The Maple Leafs are also looking for a solution to their goaltending issue. Joseph Woll is looking to be the guy, and Ilya Samsonov did let them down in the playoffs.
The Penguins are in a goaltender situation as well, with Alex Nedeljkovic and Tristian Jarry, not to mention nearly ready Joel Blomqvist in Wilkes-Barre. Would the Penguins be willing to deal Jarry, if they can sign Ned, and bring up Blomqvist as his back-up?
Marner has one more year left on his deal with Toronto and a cap hit of nearly $11 million. If the Leafs are looking to retool, maybe some type of deal with Jarry and Graves could give the Penguins a younger talent at the forward position for two players that did not contribute much to the remaining part of the season.
