The Pittsburgh Penguins leadership has made headlines quickly in their off-season after reports exposed the power struggle between their general manager and head coach. With this news, interest has steadily grown in Mike Sullivan to coach for a different team.
In reports made recently by Daily Face Off reporter Frank Seravlli, Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas and head coach Mike Sullivan have struggled to cooperate. This is due to Dubas's hope plans to change the coaching staff that Sullivan believes should remain in place."On DFO Live, Frank Seravalli says there are lot of whispers about will Jon Cooper be staying in TB.
He also said there's a bit of a power struggle with Dubas & Sullivan in PIT. Dubas wants to make changes to the coaching staff but Sullivan has been resistant to that #NJDevils"

With the rumor of Sullivan's potential exit looming, fans quickly took to hypothesizing which team he would work for. One of the most prominent of these was for the New Jersey Devils, who have made it known to Elliotte Friedman they want to go all out on their next head coach.
"So Elliotte Friedman is hearing the Devils want to take a «big swing» at Mike Sullivan or Jon Cooper but both guys are under contract. It makes no sense. Are they going to trade for one of them? They can't just hire away a guy already under contract."
However, this would require Sullivan to be fired from his position. Additionally, Dubas has also stated that he has not provided the team with an opportunity to speak to the Pittsburgh coach.

While the Penguins strategize a rebuild for the coming NHL season, Mike Sullivan remains in his role. With playoffs well underway and the next season distant, it may be a while before any updates are made on this head coach's future in Pittsburgh.
