Former Pittsburgh Penguin and current Carolina Hurricane Jake Guentzel is ripping it up in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs after the trade.

What an astounding player he has been for the Hurricanes, but he's run into the New York Rangers. The President Trophy-winning team has been incredibly dominant over the Hurricanes slashing Penguins fans' hopes of a first-round pick if Guentzel and the Hurricanes make the Stanley Cup Final.

Guentzel has been pushing the Hurricanes to new heights and the team seems to explode with his courageous presence.

A 5-foot-11, 180-pound forward has had a strong 2023-24 season split between the Carolina Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins.

The pending unrestricted free agent will look to cash in this off-season either with the Hurricanes, maybe the Penguins, and likely a new home on the free agent market.

Every year, there are big-name players on the free agent watch list, Jake Guentzel, a former 77th overall draft selection is one of the top names on the list.

He fights in the dirty areas and plays as if he's 6-foot-4, he's exactly the type of player you wish every player could play like.

Guentzel will likely find a new home this off-season, it's unlikely he will re-sign with the Hurricanes or call Pittsburgh home yet again but never say never.

With the connection and strong bond, Guentzel and Sidney Crosby have, it makes sense to bring Guentzel back. Adding the friendship Guentzel has between the current Penguins general manager and president of hockey operations Kyle Dubas and former Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe, it could happen.
