The Philadelphia Flyers have officially entered desperation mode. As the team looks to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs for the first time in 9 outings, head coach John Tortorella has made a very surprising scratch regarding a high profile player.
Tortorella scratches Flyers captain
In bombshell of news, John Tortorella has decided to scratch Philadelphia Flyers captain Sean Couturier.
Danny Briere on the #flyers decision to healthy scratch captain Sean Couturier tonight: "I can tell you one thing -- with John Tortorella, it doesn't matter who it is. That's what he's known for. He treats everybody the same way."

It seems like the Flyers captain hasn't been taking the news very well...
Couturier: "I've been putting the work in for a while. I've been struggling, but I've been working on my game, and it's frustrating the way I've been treated around here lately. But it is what it is."
The Philadelphia Flyers are currently in crunch time, there are teams right up their alley trying to catchup to them , including their rivals the Washington Capitals who have just gained momentum at the wildcard spot.
