Penguins Defenseman Jack St. Ivany Recalled from WBS

The Pittsburgh Penguins made some roster moves again today recalling defenseman Jack St. Ivany from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Jack St. Ivany was called up to the Pittsburgh Penguins again today, as the Penguins send Jonathan Gruden back the WBS.

The Penguins have recalled defenseman Jack St. Ivany from the @WBSPenguins.

Gruden recently played in the Penguins loss to the New Jersey Devils, with one shot and one hit in seven minutes of game action.

St. Ivany was back playing on Monday in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, only his second game in nine days. He was clearly excited to return to game action and accumulated 3 assists breaking a 10-game draught.

He will now return to the big club with the hopes of an NHL debut in his future. St. Ivany is one of the young defenseman that Kyle Dubas expects to compete for a NHL role. Dubas wants to give his young players opportunities this year, and although this is a second call up for St. Ivany he has yet to see playing time for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Jack St. Ivany is listed at 6'3 at 198lbs, and was considered to be capable of filling the opening left by the Ruhwedel trade. He

Jonathan Gruden returns to the AHL affiliate after a stint of 12 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He only managed to score one goal during that time with the Pens and returns to the AHL with 13 goals and 24 points in 43 games this season.

Although he only scored one goal in his role on the fourth line, he was able to contribute with 35 hits and 5 blocks.

The Penguins are looking to rebound tomorrow night as they take on the Dallas Stars. Game time is 8pm EST.
