The Pittsburgh Penguins are in for a battle for their next three games, as they currently sit in the last wildcard spot with 86 points, we now have an idea on what the magic number could be for the Penguins to achieve their playoff aspirations.

Pittsburgh Penguins reporter Josh Yohe took the time to figure out the math on the Penguins playoff probablility's with their last three games. Keep in mind the teams they are playing in their final three games are the Boston Bruins, Nashville Predators and the New York Islanders, all teams who have punched their ticket to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

If the Pens beat Bruins and Preds in any manner, and beat the Isles in regulation, they clinch third in Metro and likely open the playoffs in Raleigh.
They clinch a playoff spot if they go no worse than 2-0-1 in their final three games. With help, could get in at 2-1 or worse.

Although it seems like a difficult task, which it undoubtedly is, if there is a team in the NHL that can do it based on their form, it's Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins who are 7-0-3 in their last ten games.

More details to come, and go Pens go!
