Jaromir Jagr may join the Penguins organization
Josh Yohe, Penguins reporter has speculated that the Pittsburgh Penguins organization has interest in offering a front office role to legend Jaromir Jagr. This would be his first role in the NHL since his brief stinct with the Calgary Flames. Jaromir Jagr final NHL season with the Calgary Flames
It makes perfect sense as we have started to see Jaromir Jagr become more involved around the Pittsburgh Penguins. Most recently, Jagr had his jersey retired back in February and he had himself an honourable ceremony, organized by the Pittsburgh Penguins.Jaromir Jagr has his jersey retired
"The Penguins want Jagr to be an employee moving forward. I'm not sure what role. I think they'll take what they can get the more of Jagr's presence and hockey mind that he's willing to share, the better."
Says Josh Yohe in a recent piece.
During Jagr's retirement speech, he praised the Pittsburgh Penguins, full of gratitude.
«I gotta say what a weekend so far,» Jagr said during his jersey retirement speech on February 18. «It's beautiful. I practiced with the team. I was pretty good. Let me tell you. I was pretty good. I had dinner with the boys. Thank you, guys. Today all the highlights, videos, goals, even the hair great memories.
«I remember my first coach Bob Johnson always say today is a great day for hockey,'» Jagr continued. «I'm going to use it and I'm going to change it a little bit. I'm going to say, today is a great day for me. To be here with you, hearing the cheers, I don't even have to score, that's beautiful. That's never gets old.»
