But during his biweekly podcast, The GM Show with Josh Getzoff, Dubas talked about how this will free up space for younger players like Ryan Shea to get some NHL time, and he also included Jack St. Ivany in the mix.
«We have a couple of guys, younger players we wanted to give more legitimate time to,» Dubas said. «Ryan Shea and Jack St. Ivany, in particular. St. Ivany has played really well for Wilkes.»

Jack St. Ivany Can Kill Penalties And Is A Shut Down Defenseman
This is St. Ivany's second season of professional hockey, and although he only has 12 points in 52 games, he is proving himself on the other side of the ice.
«Right shot, penalty kill,» Dubas said. «We're going to continue to have him roll here.»
With the Penguins already stacked with offensive defensemen on the right side, having a young player like St. Ivany could help with shutting down the opponent.
The Penguins Only Have Four Right-Handed Shot Defensemen On The Roster
The Penguins currently only have 4 right-handed defensemen, Letang and Karlsson are two of them. So the opportunity is there for a player like St. Ivany to make his mark.
«You've got Kris and Erik, and then who's going to fill in that third role?» Dubas said. «What do you need from them? It's going to be penalty killing, size, strength, reach. Jack brings those.»
Dubas did talk about giving Shea and Ludvig more playing time as well, but St. Ivany has the attention of the GM. In fact, as of this morning, Jack St. Ivany is being given his shot, he was called up from the WBS Penguins.
