Penguins forward Jansen Harkins expected to make his return

The Pittsburgh Penguins remain locked into a very tight playoff race. Now the team is getting some reinforcements though as Jansen Harkins is set to return to the lineup tonight after being activated of long-term injured reserve.

Harkins last suited up for the Penguins on March 7th against the Washington Capitals. He played just 4 and a half minutes in that game before he left with an injury that would eventually land him on LTIR. Now it appears as though his recovery is complete as he just finished a conditioning assignment in the AHL. This morning, he was seen practicing with the Penguins as a regular participant.









The game is a must-win for the Penguins. The team is currently one point behind the Red Wings, Capitals, and Flyers for the final wild card spot in the Eastern conference. A win could put them into the playoffs again with just one game remaining in the regular season. They are still probably a long-shot to make the playoffs but that could change with a win tonight.
