A referee was stretchered off the ice after a scary collision during the Penguins' game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Steve Kozari collided with Tampa Bay Lightning's defenseman Haydn Fleury in the third period of the game and had to leave the ice on a stretcher after getting knocked out.

Fleury also retreated to the locker room, but managed to leave the ice on his own.

Watch the incident here:

All players from both teams went besides Kozari has he was leaving the ice, in a great gesture that showcases the respect between refs and players.

"Video of referee Steve Kozari grabbing linesman Kyle Flemington's hand while being stretchered off after an accidental, violent collision with Haydn Fleury. (Fleury went to the room.) Hope everyone will be okay."

Details and updates will come.
