The Pittsburgh Penguins have some solid prospects in their organization. One of which is Brayden Yager who continues his dominate play in the WHL.

Before the draft in 2023, Yager was ranked number five on NHL Central Scouting's midterm ranking of North American skaters eligible for the 2023 draft. The now 19-year-old had 25 goals and 45 assists in 61 games during that 2022-23 season.
Yager Performed Well During The 2023-24 Preseason With The Penguins
During the preseason the Penguins were able to get a glimpse of Yager in action. He played in a split squad game against the Columbus Blue Jackets and managed to get the game winning goal in a shootout where the Penguins came out on top with a 3-2 win.
When asked about the goal, Yager commented:
«It definitely felt really good. I had a move set in before I even went. Just happy it went in, and obviously got the win too.»
Kyle Dubas was high on Yager, and was happy that he dropped down in a position where the Penguins were able to draft him.
«He was in a mix of players that we were really hoping would drop down to 14,» said Kyle Dubas, Penguins President of Hockey Operations and GM. «The scouting staff was very excited about him, and we're thrilled to be able to get him at our pick. He doubled his assists total year to year, but I think more importantly, in addition to his production, it was the way that he was able to be the defensive conscience of his line.»
Brayden Yager is part of a group of talented young prospects that the Penguins have in their organization that will hopefully be making the big club sooner than later.
As reported on earlier this week, the Penguins have goaltending prospects like Sergei Murashov in the pipeline as well as the recent call ups from the WBS penguins like Jack St. Ivany.
If this is what Dubas was talking about when he wanted to get younger this offseason, the Penguins look like that have some good options to bring up very soon.
