Phil Kessel, multi Stanley Cup champ is reportedly nearing an NHL contract in the coming days. Kessel hasn't played in the NHL in months since his contract with the reigning Stanley Cup champions the Vegas Golden Knights expired.

Is Phil Heading to Vancouver

According to an announcement made by Canucks GM Patrik Allvin, Kessel will be reporting to Abbotsford to work out with the Canucks AHL team.




This looks promising for Kessel and could be a great addition for the Canucks as he brings proven playoff experience and leadership.

Kessel was adored during his time in Pittsburgh and was the key component of the beloved HBK line.
