Penguins team never lost faith in their playoff chances

The Pittsburgh Penguins players were always optimistic about their chances of making the playoffs and it seems to be paying off.
Listening to interviews when all the odds were against them, they were always positive about their game play. Now with just four regular season games left on the schedule, the Penguins can control their own destiny.Not too long ago the Penguins were looking at where their place in the draft lottery would be. But with points in their last nine games straight, they are looking at the playoffs instead.
When Bryan Rust was asked about the team's optimistic view, he commented:

The Penguins have just kept fighting through, and now there is real hope of a playoff berth. They talked about never giving up until they were mathematically eliminated.
«For the last two to three weeks, we've been right in it,» Sidney Crosby said. «It's brought out the best in us. We're playing good hockey. We believe in our game.»
Crosby has more than contributed to this phenomenal run with 17 points (7G, 10A) in the last nine games.
The Penguins are facing the Red Wings tonight, with the game looking to have a playoff atmosphere at PPG Paints Arena.
Bunting when asked yesterday about the game:
"It's gonna be fun. It's gonna be loud, and I'm hoping it's kind of like that Tampa game. That was like a playoff atmosphere. So, I expect that tomorrow."
There is no need to scoreboard watch or look ahead to the next final three games. The implications for this matchup with the Red Wings tonight are big enough. A win will go a long way in helping either team keep their playoff hopes alive.
