Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan gave some important roster updates ahead of the team's game against the Carolina Hurricanes tonight. Among the players he addressed was Noel Acciari, who is out with an injury.

Mike Sullivan Shakes up Penguins roster against Carolina Hurricanes

The Pittsburgh Penguins are set to face the Carolina Hurricanes tonight. At this point it seems like the season is already lost. The Penguins traded Jake Guentzel at the trade deadline and the results have been predictable. The team that was already out of the playoffs continued to fall further into draft lottery territory. As such, tonight's game likely won't mean much for the organization, but it will mean something to the players that are still giving their best effort to win. Jeff Carter, who celebrated his 1300th career NHL game last month looks to be returning to the lineup tonight as well as Ryan Graves, who recently welcomed his first child to the world.

Jeff Carter (upper-body, 3 games missed) and Ryan Graves (personal, 2 games missed) have rejoined the team for morning skate. Noel Acciari is absent after leaving Sunday's game with a lower-body injury - he's been placed on IR. All other expected players are present.

Meanwhile, it seems that Noel Acciari will likely be shut-down for the season after sustaining an injury against the Colorado Avalanche.

- Jeff Carter is a game-time decision
- Ryan Graves is "available to play"
- Noel Acciari's status is "longer term", "week-to-week"

Kyle Dubas and the Penguins will have a tough decision to make at the draft this year as they currently have their 1st round pick, which is top-ten protected. However, the team could choose to send that pick to the Sharks anyways, should they feel that next year's pick might be more valuable. If the team decides to tank next year, that could very well be the case. It seems like that won't be happening, but anything can change over the offseason.
