Penguins making history on their quest to make the playoffs

After months of struggling, the Pittsburgh Penguins have clawed back into playoff contention! They snagged a massive 5-4 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning, bumping them to the Eastern Conference's second wild-card spot with just five games left.

Now, the Penguins aren't out of the woods yet, but things are looking up. Entering the home stretch, they were nine points out of a playoff spot. They've made up that ground in eleven days. According to the NHL, if they make it to the postseason, it'll be the biggest comeback in the final 11 games ever.



They've been on a 6-0-2 heater, securing points in eight straight games. They've grabbed fate by the horns and taken control. There was the five-goal third period in New Jer, a dominant win over the first-place Rangers, a statement victory over the Washington Capitals in DC, and now a thriller over the Bolts has vaulted the Pens into a playoff spot.






However, the rest of the way won't be a walk in the park for the Penguins. They have five challenging games, including showdowns with the Detroit Red Wings and the New York Islanders, fighting tooth and nail for playoff spots.



If the Penguins can pull off some big wins there, they're practically punching their ticket to the playoffs!
