Captain Sidney Crosby Continues a Legendary Career Reaching 1000 Even Strength Points

The milestones keep on coming for Crosby. Tuesday night in Vancover the captain had 2 assists. The second one, was his 1,000th even strength NHL point.

Crosby is the Fourth Fastest NHL Player to Reach 1,000 Even Strength Points

It was his 1,246th game last night, and that puts Sid as the fourth fastest to reach this milestone in NHL history. He sits behind Jaromir Jagr, Marcel Dionne and the Great One Wayne Gretzky. For comparison, Gretzky did it in 608 games.

Crosby now sits just 27 points away from moving into the top 10 in points totals, with Phil Esposito in front of him with 1,590 total points.

Crosby has a total of 1,564 points in his career, which is the most for an active NHL player. Alex Ovechkin is the closest with 1,528, but it took him 156 more games to achieve that.

The Penguins sit 7 points out of the wildcard spot, as well as behind the Flyers for 3rd in the Metro by 7 points. They will take on the Seattle Kraken Thursday night in Seattle.
