Pittsburgh Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby expresses his frustration with the team direction under General Manger Kyle Dubas.
Dubas is very aware that not only the fans were upset about his trade decisions at the deadline, but that Sidney Crosby was as well. The fact is the Penguins were, and still are, fighting for a playoff spot, and it appeared he all but gave up on this season.
Dubas talked with Pierre LeBrun of the Athletic and LeBrun wrote about how Dubas will probably make some more moves that Crosby will disagree with.

«I think you'd be remiss not to seek his opinion and how he's feeling,'' Dubas said. «Obviously he's done so much for the city of Pittsburgh and for the Penguins. I want his opinion, I value his opinion."
Sat down with Penguins boss Kyle Dubas at the NHL GM meetings. Dubas on tough' trades, next steps, on No. 87, and on his exit from Toronto. My latest for @TheAthletic ⤵️⤵️ https://t.co/ZaDpxPuDPy Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) March 19, 2024
Crosby's Frustrations With Dubas Has Led To Speculations Of A Trade
Clearly Dubas is aware that Sid expressed his desire to keep Guentzel in Pittsburgh and we all heard what Sid had to say after the trade was complete. is prepared that the captain will also be disappointed with moves in the future. As Dubas told LeBrun:
«We may not always agree and I might have to do things in the short run he disagrees with.''
This frustration has led some people to believe that Sid will want to be traded to have the opportunity to win another cup. But Sid is eligible for an extension as of July 1st, and Dubas as well as Crosby look to make that happen. Both sides agree that Crosby will retire as a Penguin.
«But I think everyone's been pretty clear on where they stand on the fact everyone would like to see him end his career in Pittsburgh and it's my intention that in those years that we're back and definitively contending.''
Hopefully Sid can use that frustration he has to help push the Penguins to a final wild card spot and make the playoffs. Currently the Penguins sit in 7th in the Metro and are 7 points behind Detroit for that last spot.
The Penguins next opponent is the Dallas Stars, in Dallas. Game time is 8pm EST on Friday March 22nd.
