With just over 15 games left in the NHL season, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has the chance to do something only the great one Wayne Gretzky has ever done.
Crosby can tie record with Gretzky
Sidney Crosby is having himself a phenomenal season at the helm of the Steel City. Despite them being out of the playoffs, you can count on Crosby to live up to an interesting statistic. If Sidney Crosby goes point per game this season, He would tie the great one Wayne Gretzky for the most point per game seasons which is 19 seasons.
As of right now, Sidney Crosby has 68 points in 67 games played, therefore he would just need to get 14 points in his next 15 games, something that is not of far reach.

His winger for the last couple seasons, Bryan Rust also commented.

He's in the company of only one other person, who's considered to be the best player of all time, so it's pretty cool that that's even a possibility.»
Lars Eller shared his thoughts as well.
«To be competitive and on top of your game for so long a lot of guys have skill and can keep it up for a few years, but to do it for so long, you have to have a certain inner drive that fuels you,» Penguins center Lars Eller said. «His hunger for always wanting to be the best is probably what stands out the most.»
Crosby has been instrumental to the success in Pittsburgh, he has the potential to go down as the greatest Pittsburgh Penguin to ever live.
