Alex Nedeljkovic joins Team U.S.A for World Championship

The Pittsburgh Penguins' goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic joined Team U.S.A for the World Championship in Czechia.

The Penguins had a tough end of the season. After major efforts from the team to clinch a playoff spot, in the last few weeks of the regular calendar, the Islanders and the Capitals cut the grass from under them and clinch a playoff spot only to get eliminated in the first round.

After this useless push that led to two of the most boring series we've seen in a long time, it looks like the Penguins goaltender, who played a huge role in keeping his team's hopes alive, decided that he wants to keep playing for a few more weeks.

Nedeljkovic will join Alex Lyon and Trey Augustine on the States' goalie unit to Czechia:




Nedeljkovic will become a free agent on July 1st, and if he performs well in the tournament, it could help him get the best contract possible.

We don't know what the future in the NHL looks like for him, but according to Capfriendly, he ranks third in wins for goaltender turning free agents this summer, behind Ilya Samsonov and Cam Talbot.
