In the Carolina Hurricanes vs New York Rangers Game last night at MSG, Jacob Trouba made multiple attempts to destroy Hurricanes players, and now may face suspension.

In a game that saw the New York Rangers come out on top and take a two games to nothing lead against the Carolina Hurricanes, the heated actions by Jacob Trouba are taking center stage.

Trouba attempted to elbow Martin Necas who was able to see him coming and dive down out of the way. Here you can see Trouba's elbow coming out even as he was about to destroy himself into the boards.

Here is a look at the play in full speed. Trouba knowing was not going to get Necas but still dove at full speed hitting himself head first into the glass and boards

Now, the conversation is around if Trouba can be suspended for not making a hit. Within the NHL rule books, it states that if a player has any intent for impact with head it will be addressed. Clearly Trouba had intent.

Fans and experts agree that this was some dangerous actions.

Jacob Trouba is the last dude on the rangers that should be captain. 3 stupid penalties, almost a major, and no points last night. The guy takes up 8 million to do nothing. Trying to take someone's head off does what? He is pointless and serves no purpose.

Local columnist for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Dejan Kovacevic agrees with the NHL rules on intent.

Per NHL rules: 'A match penalty shall be imposed on any player who deliberately attempts to injure or who deliberately injures an opponent in any manner.'

Not a minor or major. A match penalty. It's actually DEFINED by INTENT, not outcome.

We will wait and see what the NHL will say about this reckless play and player.
